Sayl Bunyan M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Bunyan grew up in Baghdad, where he graduated from the medical school of Baghdad University in 2006. He immigrated to the United States and completed his general surgery training in the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX.

Dr. Bunyan practices general, laparoscopic and Robotic surgery. He specialize in gall bladder and biliary surgery, different types of hernia surgery, stomach surgery, small intestine resection and appendectomy, colon and rectal surgery, Endocrine surgery including adrenalectomy, pancreas, thyroid, parathyroid surgery, and breast surgery.

Dr. Bunyan in very passionate about treating cancer, particularly the surgical treatment of pancreatic, thyroid, colorectal and breast tumors. He also has special interest in the surgical treatment of complex ventral abdominal hernias and laparoscopic/robotic hiatal hernias and fundoplication procedures.

Dr. Bunyan is the author of the book chapter (Complications of Breast Surgery) in the Second edition of Complications in Surgery and Trauma.

Dr. Bunyan enjoys sports and traveling, he is married with two children.
