James A. Field, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Field grew up in Spring. He graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences. He then attended the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he received his medical degree. Dr. Field stayed on to complete his general surgery residency, being administrative chief resident his final year. In 2001, he became board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Field is currently Chief of Surgery at St Lukes CMC. He serves on numerous committees including the operating room, credentials, and peer review. At Memorial Hermann The Woodlands, Dr. Field is the Cancer Physician Liaison and participates on the cancer committee.
Dr. Field’s interests are in general and advanced laparoscopic surgery. He treats diseases of the breast, abdominal organs, and hernias. He has extensive experience with laparoscopic procedures including: hernias, colectomies, reflux procedures, gall bladders, and appendectomies.
Dr. Field is married and enjoys travel, golf, and sports.
